This week I am keeping it simple. Each week when I sit down to plan out the week’s meals, I try to do at least one or two recipes that are either new, or a little more in depth. The problem with this? I end up spending more money on those ingredients. Instead, I’m just planning simple meals this week, and most with ingredients I already have.
So what’s for dinner?
Monday–Chicken Fajitas (using peppers I froze a few weeks ago so they didn’t go bad–saving $$ by not buying fresh)
Tuesday–Noodles and Veggies in Peanut Sauce (already have the noodles and sauce, just needed veggies)
Wednesday–Salad (this is going to be a reoccurring theme each week)
Thursday–Crock Pot White Chicken Chilli
Friday–Spaghetti and Salad
Saturday–Hamburgers and Oven Fries
Sunday–Broccoli and Cheddar Soup (Easy to throw together and doesn’t take a lot of ingredients!)
Guess what? I only spent $69.73 at the store this week! Way less than what I have been spending (easily $120 average a week) Simplicity is key!
What is your family eating this week?
