I used to read all the time. Any sort of free time I would have would usually be spent reading on the couch, or my favorite comfy spot. Or, if I was having trouble sleeping I would get out that book and get lost in a whole other world. It seems like I never have time to read anymore and I miss that! When my husband and I were preparing for our vacation to Huatulco, Mexico earlier this year, we went a little bit overboard buying books in preparation for our beach parking spot. And by parking spot, I mean for our butts. We literally parked them on the same beach chair day after day, only getting up for lunch, dinner and more cocktails of course. I am SO ready to go back!

Here are a few of the books we indulged in;

But, with all of that reading material, I needed some a way of holding my page. Can you believe I had no bookmarks at all?! Embarrassingly, I’ve been using a post it note as my bookmark for longer than I care to admit. That’s when I had the bright idea to make these cute Washi Tape bookmarks! They were quick, easy, and the design possibilities are endless.Quick and Easy DIY Washi Tape Bookmarks

How to make Washi Tape Bookmarks

Supplies:

Instructions:

  1. First I started by cutting the cardstock to 1 1/2″ wide by 6″ long. You can change the size of yours if you wish, but this size works pretty universally.
  2. Lay Washi Tape out on the cardstock in the pattern you want. For 2 of mine, I did horizontal stripes and wrapped the tape around to the backside as well. That way my bookmarks are double-sided.Quick and Easy DIY Washi Tape Bookmarks
  3. Trim off excess tape.Quick and Easy DIY Washi Tape Bookmarks
  4. Punch a hole in the top of the book mark.
  5. Tie on ribbon, yarn or twine of choice as shown below.Quick and Easy DIY Washi Tape Bookmarks

And that’s it!
