A little update on me, on my family, on my big move, on our next adventures…
I know I have hinted here and there that we were looking for a house (to buy !), and then I may have hinted that we found that house. Well, tomorrow is the big day! We close on our new home, and I can’t wait to show you all the pictures! Of course, they will be “before” pictures, because there are so many things we both want to do. I’m so excited for my huge kitchen with a nice long island, and little breakfast nook. I’m also excited that my husband and I will each have a separate office, and no mine will not be in the corner of the living room anymore. Until we start having babies to fill up those bedrooms, we will each enjoy our own little workspace. Delilah is especially excited because she will have windows on the front of the house to look out of. Currently in our rental, there are no windows doggy height for her to peer out of. She will even have a small, but nice little yard to chase her ball in. The boys (Jack and William), well they should just be happy they get to go with us 😉 Win Win for everybody!
There is one part of our family that will be making the big move with us only in spirit. A little over 3 weeks ago, we made the very difficult decision to let our baby girl Roxy, cross over the Rainbow Bridge. Even though her time here on earth with us was short, we know that she enjoyed every minute. Unfortunately, her disease, complicated by a multitude of other conditions, made her time shorter. We know we made the right decision to let her go, but in no way was it an easy one. I’ll be sharing with you later on how I made a special little memorial for her, so her spirit can go with us to our new home.
Yesterday marked my last day at work in Austin. I will have a few weeks off to get things finalized, packed, moved, and unpacked, until I start at a new vet clinic in December. Sadly, we most likely won’t have our things moved in by the time Thanksgiving rolls around. Looks like it may be a boring Turkey Day! But that’s OK. After all, it’s not about the food, it’s remembering what we are thankful for, and we have a lot!
I can’t wait for this new chapter to begin. Who knows what this one will have in store for us?
