Before I started making weekly meal plans, I would go to the grocery store each week and purchase random food items that I thought sounded good at the time. Then I would get home and realize I didn’t really have anything I could make a meal out of, just a few random ingredients. Or better yet, I would have all of this food that I thought we would eat throughout the week, that would only end up going to waste instead. Sound familiar?
If you are new to the concept of meal plans, be sure to read my post Easy Guide to Meal Planning, where I lay out all of my tips to make it fast and easy. Making a weekly meal plan doesn’t have to be time consuming, and the menu doesn’t need to be fancy. Stick to simple meals your family loves, and it will take you no time at all!
This week, I stuck to meals I could make from items I already have in my pantry and freezer, so that all I need to get from the store are perishable items like fruit, vegetables, milk and yogurt. It makes for an easy grocery shopping trip, AND saves money on expenses this week. I call it a win win.
So what’s on your family’s menu this week?
