Valentine’s Day Washi Tape Art

Sharing with your friends!

I wanted to share this quick and easy Valentine’s Day craft I made the other day.  I had this small (5″x7″) burlap canvas I got on clearance at Hobby Lobby back before Christmas just begging to be made into something.  I figured I could make it into an easy Valentine’s Day piece of art, but I didn’t want it to be something permanent.  Since I’m not one to really decorate for Valentine’s Day, I didn’t want to part with my little burlap canvas for this holiday.  XO Valentine's Day Art 1

I’ve been collecting hoarding washi tape anytime I come across some on sale or clearance.  My Target has even been having them in the dollar spot lately (score!)  I picked up a pretty black with white hearts, as well as a glittery red, thinking I could use it for something.

I’m sure you’ve gathered where I’m going with this.  I have a cheap burlap canvas that I don’t want to do anything permanent to, and some Valentine’s Day-ish colored washi tape.  You guessed it.  Valentine’s Day Washi Tape Art!

It really was pretty easy!  I just took two pieces of the black and white heart washi tape to make the “x”.  Instead of doing the “o” in the same tape, I decided a little heart would look cute in the glittery red.

So there you go folks.  A pretty, quick, and cheap little Valentine’s Day art!

  1. How cute! Sometimes it’s the simple little projects that turn out to be favorites. I think the red heart instead of an O is a great touch. And, what a great idea for a temporary use of the burlap! You’ve given me ideas!

  2. How cute is this! I have never used Washi tape, how sad is that? I really need to get on the band wagon and try some of it out and make cute items like this!
