Christmas Dining Room Tour and Holiday Homes Blog Hop
Do you know what today is?? Today is the day I show you how I’ve decked the halls in our dining room this year. I’m teaming up with 20 other bloggers to bring you a {one room} holiday homes blog hop and I’m so excited!!

When my husband and I moved to Texas I got rid of almost every last piece of Christmas decor. It was a sad day when I watched the garage sale masses swoop down on all of my holiday goodies, but it was necessary. After all, when you have to fit your whole life in a U-haul, you need to make sure to only take the important things.
One good thing did come from selling all of my holiday decor–I got to start from scratch! The bad news–it’s hard to build up your supply when you’re living life on a budget. There’s just no way to justify going crazy on decor that only stays up 4- 6 weeks of the year.
For this year’s Christmas dining room tour I got creative, but kept things simple. Everything I used I either made, bought marked down after Christmas last year, or had managed to miraculously hide from my husband when we moved. I did purchase a few items this year from Target, Dollar Tree, and splurged a little on an artificial tree.
But seriously, what Christmas decor is complete without a tree (or a bunch of mini trees)?
I stuck to a metallic/rustic theme, with some reds thrown in. I was really crushing on all of the red and plaid this season that I just couldn’t help myself. So if this tour is a mismatch to you, sorry (not sorry)!
Oh, and I should mention that when I say this is a Christmas dining room tour, it really is my dining room, sitting area and entryway. But it still counts as one room, because it is!
See what I did there?

Hi, Amanda ~ This is such a beautiful room! I love the colors on your dining room table and your simple, elegant touch with your decorating. I’m putting that chalkboard on my list for Santa! :0) Thank you for joining the hop, and I wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas!
Thank you for putting everything together Tiffany! I had so much fun, and I hope that Santa brings you a chalkboard 🙂

Thank Chelc! I love my chalkboard, it’s probably my favorite item in my house!
Amanda, your home is beautiful! You did such an amazing job!
I am still having the same issue after moving into this house 2 years ago! I donated all my holiday stuff and I am still trying to build it back up!
So fun joining you for this hop!
Happy holidays!
Karen
It really takes a long time to build up doesn’t it? Thank you for stopping by Karen!
Your table looks great – I love all those little trees!
Thank you Meg!
Amanda, your home is beautiful! I especially love that red plaid basket and your stair rail! I couldn’t even imagine parting with any of my Christmas decor but then I’ve never had to move a long distance either.
Thank you Shirley! It was hard parting ways, but I love that I can start again!
Amanda, I can’t imagine getting rid Christmas decorations. i am sure that was really hard but your dining room looks great! That chalkboard is awesome and the sprigs of green on your plates are so pretty. Merry Christmas, Tara
It was SO hard, but in reality my decor taste has changed since then so it’s for the best. Thank you so much!
I would be so sad to have to get rid of my holiday decorations, but on the plus…you get to start all new! I love the simple touches you’ve added and I hope to someday do a rustic look in my home too.
I would never have thought you were short on supplies, because everything looks perfectly placed! I love the ornaments in the glasses, and the pops of red!
Thank you Megan! I really had a lot of fun trying to make everything come together, and I’m pretty happy with the results. I already can’t wait for next year (especially after I hit the after Christmas mark downs)!
Your room is lovely – love the tree in the center of the table and I really like the metallics and rustic with the red tossed in the mix! Not mis-matched at all – its awesome!
Thank you Jill! I’m glad I’m not the only one who likes the combination!
Amanda – your home is beautiful! We love all of the creative decorative touches that you have added…the chalkboard art is fantastic. So fun sharing the tour with you. Merry Christmas!
Thank you so much! My chalkboard is my absolute favorite thing in this space–so versatile! This holiday home hop has been SO much fun!
