If you need a last minute gift idea or a hostess gift for those Christmas parties, look no further! Give the gift of good wine and a good laugh this season with Sutter Home Family Vineyards and these fun printable wine bottle gift tags.

Moving to a new city right before the holidays can be rough. Leaving friends behind makes me yearn for the past Christmas parties I hosted and attended with them. But on a happier note, moving back to the Midwest means we are closer to our families! This year (for the first time in FIVE years) we are able to spend Christmas with them and that makes everything worth it!

Even though I won’t be hosting my own Christmas party, I’ll be going to a few with family. Because of that I needed to come up with a quick and easy gift idea. Thankfully, Sutter Home Family Vineyards has me covered. With their family oriented business, affordable prices and award-winning wines, Sutter Home Family Vineyards makes a great gift.  And with several different varietals, there’s something for everyone’s taste.

I came up with these cute and cheeky printable wine gift tags to accompany each bottle and I love how they turned out. Even though I love my family, sometimes spending extended periods of time with them can be…interesting. That’s why I kept these wine bottle gift tags fun and light with some cute quotes, like “‘Tis the season to get tipsy” and “This wine pairs well with difficult relatives”.(because we’ve all got that one family member that brings up politics at dinner)

How to Assemble the Wine Bottle Gift Tags

First download the wine bottle gift tags by clicking on the photo below. Once downloaded, load your printer with white cardstock and print out the gift tags.Printable-Wine-Bottle-Gift-Tags

Next, cut the tags out from the cardstock. Leave the white center for now.

Fold back the top portion of the tags in a straight line and make a crease with your thumb and forefinger.

This is where having a circle punch would come in handy, but since I don’t have one, we will cut out the centers the old school way.

Lightly bend the paper so that the center of the circle is exposed, and make a quick cut with the tip of the scissors. Open the cardstock back up, and continue making cuts like shown in the photo below.

*Note–be careful not to bend the cardstock too much or you will create a crease in the tag where you don’t want it.

Once all of the cuts are made, cut out the center portion. Having the cuts radiating out from the center makes it much easier to get a clean circle cut.

Now the wine bottle gift tags are ready to hang! Choose your favorite Sutter Home Family Vineyards wine and gift tag pairing. My favorite is Sutter Home Merlot and “let it snow we’ve got Merlot”, but a close second is Sutter Home Moscato with “Wine is always a good idea”.

For a little extra flair you can even wrap a few berry and pine stems with twine and tie them to the neck of the bottle. I happened to have a few left over from my DIY Pine Cone Ornaments and they worked perfectly on the Sutter Home Family Vineyards wine bottles. Another idea is to add a cute ornament for two gifts in one beautiful package!

Or just leave them as is, and give the gift of good wine and a good laugh this season! I plan on putting several bottles with tags in a cute basket under the tree at our family Christmas. They get to choose their favorite wine, and I get to make everyone happy!

How do you bring people together during the holiday season? I’d love to hear from you in the comments!

  1. You can use any punch to get started (then you don’t need to bend the paper). After that you can make the cuts and you’re good to go!

  2. Such a cute and clever idea. Unfortunately, I discovered this after Christmas and New Years… do you make any for other holidays? New Years, Valentine’s Day, Birthday, Dinner Party? I would love to make these regularly for gifting… so cute. Thanks for sharing!

  3. These are great way to dress up a bottle of wine for the holidays. Food is how our family gets down. We always have a snack table before meals and it’s where we gather.
